Solar Cellular Security Cameras

No power. No WiFi. Still visible.

Solar and cellular cameras can put surveillance at gates, remote yards and temporary locations that conventional cameras cannot easily reach. WireLite engineers the whole node—camera, connectivity, power budget, mounting, storage and remote access.

Practical service from planning to support.

The camera is only one part of an off-grid surveillance system. Reliable results depend on the total electrical load, solar exposure, battery chemistry and temperature limits, carrier signal, antenna placement, video transmission strategy and how long the system must survive without useful solar production.

Solar power sizing

Calculate camera, router, infrared and accessory loads and size generation and storage around the application.

Cellular signal assessment

Determine carrier coverage, antenna placement and whether an external directional antenna or booster is warranted.

Standalone LTE cameras

Use integrated solar/cellular cameras for single locations where simplicity matters most.

Shared cellular gateways

Support several PoE/IP cameras from one LTE/5G router when a larger remote node is more economical.

Local and edge storage

Preserve evidence locally so the system does not depend on continuous high-bandwidth upload.

Rugged mounting and enclosures

Build around weather exposure, tampering, service access, cable protection and relocatability.

Choose the architecture that fits the site.

WireLite is not limited to one camera or connectivity model. The design can combine professional IP cameras, local recording, wireless links, LTE/5G, solar power and satellite service according to distance, bandwidth, power and operating cost.

Single gate

Integrated solar LTE camera

Fastest route to one-camera remote visibility.

Remote yard

Solar + industrial LTE router + PoE

One power system and cellular plan can serve several cameras.

High bandwidth required

Solar + Starlink

Suitable where energy budget and site exposure can support satellite equipment.

Near another connected building

Solar + wireless bridge

Avoid cellular recurring costs when line-of-sight networking is practical.

Built for real Alberta operating environments.

Start with the assets, access routes and operating constraints. Then select the camera and network technology that gives useful evidence and reliable remote visibility.

A clear path from assessment to handover.

WireLite focuses on working systems, clean documentation and configurations that can be supported after installation.

Define the camera workload, recording method, night operation and required autonomy.

Measure cellular signal and evaluate solar exposure, mounting height and service access.

Size the panel, battery, controller, enclosure, router and camera components as one system.

Install, test low-power behaviour and remote access, and document maintenance requirements.

Common questions before deployment.

Will a small solar panel run any security camera?

No. Camera, infrared, router and heater loads vary considerably. The panel and battery should be sized from the real load and required autonomy.

Can several cameras share one LTE connection?

Yes. An industrial router and PoE network can support multiple cameras, which can be more economical than an individual cellular subscription for each camera.

What if the cellular signal is weak?

External antennas, a different carrier, a cellular booster, private wireless or satellite may be better choices depending on the site.

Does solar mean maintenance-free?

No. Panels can be obstructed by snow or dirt, batteries age, and remote systems should have a periodic inspection and health-check plan.
